Homicide detectives and rescue teams continued their search Tuesday for a 21st Century Agent who disappeared four days ago under suspicious circumstances near Toronto, Canada, authorities said.
Yuying (Anita) Mei, 56, of Markham, Ont., was last seen leaving her home about 20 miles north of Toronto around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, according to York Regional Police. . Investigators on Tuesday focused on a property in the nearby town of Stowell, where Superintendent Lisa Moskaluk said real estate agents were expected to visit that morning.
However, the officer refused to say whether the visit to the rural property off Vandorf Road was for a visit or related to her work. The sprawling property includes a house and other exterior structures as well as a pond, according to Toronto City News.
“This is where she was meant to be,” Moskaluk said, according to City News. “I don’t know if this was a (real estate) showing. It’s a very big area (searchers) need to cover. area. They have a tough job to do.
Mui is listed as a sales representative and broker of record for Atria Anita Mui Realty Inc. at Century 21 in Toronto. She has been with the brokerage for more than 14 years, specializing in high-end luxury residential and commercial real estate.
Her family spoke to her around 11 a.m. on the day she disappeared and she was never seen or heard from again. The York Regional Police Homicide Unit could not confirm whether May was at work on Friday.
“This is not consistent with her character and the circumstances of her disappearance are being treated as suspicious,” the release said.
Mei is described as a 5-foot-6 Chinese female, weighing 130 pounds, with a medium build. She has brown eyes and shoulder-length straight black hair.
May’s vehicle, a white 2024 Mercedes GLE sports utility vehicle (SUV), was located in the area of Finch Avenue East and Worden Avenue in Toronto on Friday afternoon. Investigators still have not located Maye, but their search has continued since she was reported missing.
“We encourage anyone who may have seen her or her vehicle in the Beckcliff, Stowell or Toronto areas to contact us,” said Sergeant James Dixon of York Regional Police. “You never know how much information can be Help us move forward with our investigation.”
