Credit education advocate Sue Buswell, best known in the mortgage industry for her “Sue Knows the Score” initiative, died unexpectedly this week.

Friends and former colleagues describe her as a warm, caring and generous person who genuinely enjoyed helping people educate people about their credit, which she did for nearly four decades. Buswell is often spotted hiking, walking her dogs and biking near her home in Lakeside, Arizona. She leaves behind a devoted husband;
Gridavate CEO Brad Bogel said in an interview Thursday that Buswell joined the company in early 2024 and was enthusiastic about helping the startup get off the ground.
“There’s nothing self-centered about Sue. Everything she does is about benefiting the people around her. She’s passionate about credit reporting and excited about the products we’re building at Gridavate. She’s invested in the credit reporting space It was a lot of time, and when we reconnected… she was so excited that we had signed up for the MBA and were planning to go to Denver in two months. “I can’t wait to see how the market responds to what we’re doing,” she said. . “She’s going to be a big part of what we do and we’re really excited about it. We’re all kind of shocked by it.
Bogle described Buswell as “brilliant, knowledgeable and always focused on others. She will be deeply missed by our company and all who knew her.”
Fenlock President and Chief Operating Officer Brian Vieaux said Buswell wrote the entirety of Chapter 25 of the book “Rethink Everything: What You ‘Know’ About Becoming the Next Generation Loan Officer,” which he co-authored with Kyle Draper.
The book is now dedicated to her memory.

During her roughly 35 years in the industry, Buswell has also worked at Next mortgage event, factual data, CBC Innovations, Veri taxand Southern Nevada Credit Bureau. Before joining Gridavate, she had been working as a consultant and focused on her “#sueknowsthescore” program, which provides tips on how to improve your credit score.
