As the only wine critic Bold enough to review/absorb J. Harden Cab savwhat I wanted most was to sit down and taste Beard’s delicious Far Eastern-inspired cuisine.

Unnecessary semicolons aside, here’s what I like to do when I look at celebrity-endorsed restaurants Guess which dish has the same name need. In this case, it was definitely thirteen chicken wings, six of them actually, slathered in jerk sauce, jerk seasoning, and pineapple pico. (There are zero other Caribbean flavors on the menu, but I digress.) Another is Millionaire’s Sando: braised beef, Hudson Valley seared foie gras, shokupam, truffle mayonnaise, Caviar and black truffle flakes.
Wings stand out like a zebra in a corral full of popular apps. Dumplings, dumplings, steamed buns, chicken wings? Oh, I know this. I’ve played “one is not like the other” before.
The millionaire’s path is only slightly more difficult. It’s one of those dishes that high-end restaurateurs add to their menus just for the sake of excess. Think fine dining with Michael Scott’s pretzels. To be honest, I was a little shocked that the lobster wasn’t stuffed in there.
As much as I’d like to comment on the atmosphere, I can’t because I don’t know how close the live DJ and exotic shisha are to the dining area. Nothing says elegance like a delicious salmon tiradito accompanied by flavored shisha and house music. I guess G/O Media just needs to send me to Houston to experience the full #ThirteenExperience.
