Twitter founder Jack Dorsey no longer serves as a board member of Bluesky, the decentralized social media platform he helped found. In two posts today, Bluesky thanked Dorsey while confirming his departure, adding that the company is looking for a new board member “who shares our commitment to building a world where people take control of their experiences.” Social network.
Neither Bruschi nor Dorsey himself appear to have revealed how or why he left the board. Currently, the board of directors still has two members: CEO Jay Graeber and Jabber/XMPP inventor Jeremie Miller. Dorsey originally backed Bluesky in 2019 as a project to develop open source social media standards that he hoped Twitter would adopt. He joined the board of directors after Twitter split from Twitter in 2022.
But Dorsey doesn’t appear to be a particularly active participant in the company.
