France forward Kylian Mbappe says he will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old Mbappe announced the decision at a press conference Video posted on his social media, External account.
“I’ve always said I will talk to you when the time comes,” Mbappe said.
“This is my last year at PSG. I will not extend my tenure and this adventure will be over in a few weeks.”
Mbappe’s contract with PSG expires in June, and BBC Sport reported in February that Mbappe had agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer.
The World Cup winner, who is PSG’s record goalscorer with 255 goals, will play his final home game against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 on Sunday at 20:00 BST.
PSG will then play away games against Nice (May 15) and Metz (May 19) before heading into the Coupe de France final against Lyon at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille on May 25.
Paris-born Mbappe, who joined PSG from Monaco for £165.7million in August 2017, said the club helped him “grow as a player” and “grow as a man”.
He added: “I’m excited about the opportunity and the privilege to be part of the biggest club in France and one of the best clubs in the world over the years.
“It brought me here, my first experience at a club with a lot of pressure and, of course, growing as a player by playing alongside some of the best players in history, some of the greatest champions.
“It’s hard, I never thought it would be so hard to announce this. But I think after seven years I need this, a new challenge.”
