It’s never been a secret that NPR has a liberal bias
NPR President Maher once expressed support Racial reparations and climate change ideology—suitable for her new job.
The old tweets were discovered by conservative activist Christopher Rufo. New York Times.
Maher’s past social media posts have been newsworthy. Veteran NPR reporter Uri Berliner wrote an article for Hurriyet accusing his longtime outlet of having a “liberal bent” and a lack of diversity of viewpoints.
Berliner, who has worked at NPR for 25 years, was suspended for five days shortly after.
He discusses how NPR’s coverage of Hunter Biden’s controversial 2020 laptop was reported as “Russian disinformation” and the theory of Covid-19’s Wuhan lab origins being dismissed as a conspiracy theory as no one was held accountable example.
Berliners talk about prejudice
“It’s one thing to waver on and miss out on important stories,” Berliner writes. “Unfortunately, this happens. You follow the wrong leads, you are misled by sources you trust, you become emotionally invested in the narrative, and some circumstantial evidence never adds up. It’s not good to make a big story of.
“What’s worse is pretending it never happened and moving on without any fault or self-reflection,” he continued. “Especially when you expect high standards of transparency from public figures and institutions, but fail to live up to those standards yourself. That’s what undermines trust and breeds cynicism about the media.
Berliner said NPR is beholden to all the typical left-wing tropes.
“Race and identity have become critical in nearly every aspect of the workplace,” he wrote. “Journalists are required to ask the race, gender, and ethnicity (among other questions) of everyone we interview and must enter this into a centralized tracking system. We undergo unconscious bias training sessions. More and more DEI staff are holding regular meetings, Imploring us to “start talking about race.” A monthly conversation for “women of color” and “men of color.” Non-binary people of color are also included.

CANCEL NPR FUNDS IMMEDIATELY
Maher responded to Berliner’s criticism in a statement, saying: “In America, everyone has the right to free speech as a private citizen. What matters is the work of NPR and my commitment as CEO: public service, editorial independence and mission to serve all of the American public. NPR is independent, not affiliated with any party and has no commercial interests.
Yes, right.
It is true, everyone has the right to freedom of speech.
But NPR has no right to use American tax dollars to fund the narrow views they hold.
NPR is long overdue for defunding. But there hasn’t been a time like now.
Now is the time to support and share sources you trust.
