Jamie Chadwick became the first woman on the Indy NXT podium in more than a decade with a P3 finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The three-time W Series champion is currently competing in her second season.
Chadwick moved from sixth to third place in the competition, making her 17th start, posting her best finish to date in Indy NXT.
“I’m very happy,” she said. “We’ve been on a good pace all season so far, so to be able to translate that into a podium result is great.
“The No. 28 team and I have been working hard and after the first two races, it’s exciting to finally have this car in the bag.”
Chadwick worked hard to use her strength to ensure she could handle the car on the track.
“These are physical cars, from something like the W Series, which is probably closer to an F4 car, and I know it’s going to be a challenge,” she said.
“But you don’t really know until you’re really into the season. I was underprepared last year for that reason.
“I stepped up a lot in the offseason and it definitely helped this year and paid off.”
