His lawyer Hugues Vigier told French news channel BFMTV that “he would like to believe that he [Amra] Don’t know the plan to release him”.
“To me, this plan doesn’t fit with what I know about him. If he’s behind it, then I don’t understand who he is,” Mr. Vigil added.
According to some French media reports, ExternalEarlier this week, Amla tried to escape his cell by looking through the bars of his cell.
Amra has 13 convictions, the first of which dates back to October 2009, when he was 15, Ms. Becuo, the capital’s state prosecutor, told a news conference.
Although the 30-year-old was not a “prisoner under close surveillance”, Paris prosecutors said his transport would require a “third level escort”.
Amra is said to have links to a gang in the southern city of Marseille, which has been plagued by drug-related gang violence.
But Paris prosecutors said on Tuesday that his criminal record so far does not include any drug convictions.
