Ladies and gentlemen, in this special nightly episode we continue our crazy comedy-mystery series called “Cuomo’s High Crimes and Misadventures: The Hilarious Mission to Impeach a President Who Did Nothing Wrong” , a series that is said to be low-budget but rich in content.
But tonight, with the cast and crew just back from a surprise trip to New York City, it’s clear the show must go on!
Now, our show scheduled for 11 a.m. today has been postponed as members of the majority have chosen to make a massive spiritual pilgrimage to New York for the criminal trial of a Florida man convicted of A fraudster and rapist as he faces 34 felony counts for falsifying company financial records to cover up a $130,000 hush-money payment to a porn star’s sex partner.
While some have grumbled crassly that House members should actually be here voting on public matters rather than forcing committees to change their schedules at the last minute, our colleagues have historically rightly demonstrated their commitment to this apparent reform. Intense devotion.
Of course, at the same time, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jordan is upstaging our Republican colleagues on oversight issues, making this approach not only ridiculous but completely pointless and redundant.
Now, when we last met on this matter, you’ll remember, the majority still had not determined that the president had committed any high crimes or misdemeanors.
The committee’s impressive 3.8 million pages of documents and 80 hours of testimony from 20 witnesses only provide overwhelming, clear evidence that there is nothing wrong with President Biden.
So desperate for a new storyline, Republicans have come up with this surprising new plot twist: They are now proposing to hold the U.S. attorney general in contempt of court for providing the committee with the information it requested, which was This information has absolutely nothing to do with their failed impeachment inquiry or any high crimes or misdemeanors.
True fans of the show will recall that previous episodes punished people for complying with committee orders, but this episode of not accepting “yes” for an answer takes us into weird new worlds of absurdity that no congressional committee has really been there before. .
The majority wants to know what President Biden said during his voluntary interview with Special Counsel Hour. Therefore, the Department of Justice agreed to this request and handed over the 250-page record of the five-hour interview between President Biden and the special prosecutor. We held hearings on this before this committee. , but you didn’t.
Committee members, along with hundreds of millions of Americans, must read the full transcript, and can do so now if they choose.
However, the chairman insisted that was not enough. He wanted audiobooks.
Any viewer can appreciate the cleverly hidden absurdity of this new special primetime series. at this point.
So, in this ridiculous turn, our friends are now trying to blame the fiasco of their own impeachment inquiry on Attorney General Garland and his covert efforts to obstruct it by cooperating with it.
We know what obstruction looks like because the last president specialized in obstruction.
The president agreed to a five-hour voluntary interview with the special counsel investigating him.
Attorney General Garland handed over the complete 250-page interview transcript – this was not an obstruction.
The real obstacle is Trump and his administration’s refusal to provide information that Congress has requested in more than 100 different congressional investigations and inquiries.
The previous president issued a decree directing federal officials in his administration to categorically ignore and refuse all congressional subpoenas. Do they know? He told them not to cooperate with any federal investigation by Congress.
The real obstruction occurred when two members of the committee – who may be poised to vote tonight to hold Attorney General Garland in contempt – blatantly refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and has still not responded to those subpoenas.
But now it appears, Mr. Chairman, and I just got some information, that the whole stonewalling gimmick may just be a fundraising ploy that belittles the overwhelming legal integrity and impressive theatrical ambitions of this enterprise. Mass Fundraising Mr. Chairman, you sent out your campaign’s email solicitation tonight, stating, “Biden and his advisers are terrified that I will release these tapes, forcing the media and Democrats to hold them accountable for Biden’s crushing defeat. “Mental state. [â¦] This could be the final blow to Biden and swing voters across the country. [â¦] Democrats are doing everything they can to stop the bleeding. [â¦] Signed by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Cuomo.

The original impeachment plan implemented when Kevin McCarthy was speaker called for an investigation of President Biden through the Democratic National Convention, but never impeached him. House Republicans believe the impeachment inquiry will make headlines and they can use it to influence the presidential campaign.
However, the investigation never gained traction outside of conservative media because Cuomo never found any evidence that Biden did anything wrong, so here we are.
Chairman Cuomo is stalling for time and trying to prolong the dead impeachment inquiry through bizarre detours, such as defying Attorney General Garland to provide information requested by the committee.
James Comer continues to embarrass oversight committees, and his investigations have turned one of the House’s most important committees into a laughingstock.
The American people deserve real oversight, not a community theater production produced for an audience of a former president.
