A Socialist member of the Chicago City Council believes the idea of using police to keep streets safe and punish criminals is “racist,” while calling the United States a “junk society.”
Rossana Rodriguez is a Chicago City Councilwoman who supports defunding the police and caucuses with Democratic Socialists. The congresswoman has explicitly called for “critical race theory” to be taught to children, and she also sits on the committee’s education and child development committee.
The congresswoman frequently publishes long speeches on social media, constantly criticizing American society.
The congressman said that the United States is a “garbage society” and “a white supremacist society and system” that favors white people. Rodriguez believes that “white people are at the top of the game” compared to minorities…
“When we say #DefundThePolice, we mean developing alternatives to racist punishment and brutality. This work has been around for a while, and it’s a great way to rethink our ideas about what public safety should look like. tool,” Rodriguez said in response to a post about “abolition of the police” in 2020.
