More fact or fiction: Malachi Goodman expected to be Rivals250 rookie
1. Texas leads the way with three WRs in Dakorien Moore, Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett.
Suhomel: Fact. This is a difficult question to answer. If we look at it individually, I think Texas is the leader among them. Jaime Ffrench said the same thing. It feels like Texas is definitely the team to beat for Darion Moore. Kaliq Lockett is playing it safe, but I’m slightly leaning toward Texas in that game. That being said, if we look at it as a whole, Texas might have a hard time landing all three of them, especially after fielding a four-man receiver class in 2024.
Levenson: Fact. I agree with everything Suhomel said here. Personally, it’s hard to say which school other than Texas is leading the way when it comes to these elite prospects. As Suhomel noted, what will be interesting is whether they are able to shut down all of them. There’s a chance one of them will be held back from joining a busy wide receiver class, especially in college football’s premium rooms. It feels like Texas wants them all together, with Moore at the top of the wish list. There’s no timetable for when they will begin coming off the board, but as it stands, Texas would be a likely choice for all three if they had to make a choice.

2. LSU can still be ranked No. 1 after losing Darion Moore.
Powell. fact. There is still enough talent in the 2025 class that LSU is well positioned to finish No. 1 overall in the 2025 class. Absolutely. But now is not the time to sound the horns and play “Taps” to commemorate their efforts. The Tigers still have a strong core in the 2025 class, which includes five-stars Bryce Underwood and Harlem Berry and several others who could be in the next few Players who saw some major improvement during the month. Combine that with their current standing and some of the top prospects in the 2025 class, and you can make a strong case for LSU, at least for the remainder of this discussion.
Levenson. novel. Over the past few months, LSU’s ruling class has surrounded the names of Moore, Underwood and Berry. Now, outside of Underwood and Berry, LSU has no other top-100 prospects committed. In order to compete for first place, it may need to have several candidates in the top 100, maybe even in the top half. While LSU will have some elite candidates in the running, I don’t think it’s ranked enough to beat Ohio State, Texas State, Georgia State and a few others.

3. For the third consecutive year, USC will land three or more Texas prospects.
YOUNG: Fact. Considering it only requires retaining two current players from the Lone Star State – RB Riley Wormley and Degus Cordova – and hitting one more Texas target, I’d take a chance Luck, and said given how aggressively the Trojans are recruiting, there’s another target on the horizon for the state. Of the four signees from Texas last year, OL Makai Saina was a surprise after taking an official visit, while DL Carlon Jones emerged late in the cycle. Those official visit weekends are Lincoln RileyThe impressive oceanfront estate has proven to be very effective in recent years, with USC expected to host many of Texas’ targets (WRs Daylan McCutcheon, Andrew Marsh and Emanuel Choice, S Jonah Williams, DL Xavier Ukpono, DE Chad Woodfork and LB Max Granville) and Riley Pettijohn, the Trojans will likely be involved in at least one more game.
Levenson. fact. Riley has made it clear since arriving at USC that Texas will be one of his top recruiting priorities. Wormley and Cordova already have two board members, and both are expected to stay, leaving just one more member to continue the trend of at least three members per level. Yang named several names as contenders in this category, but I also believe there will be some who are not yet being embraced and have worked their way into the field. Just as the Trojans locked up Caron Jones late in last year’s cycle, I suspect a similar situation could unfold later this year. Riley wants to emphasize landing prospects in the Lone Star State, so he’s going to look beyond surface-level names to do that.
