If a jury hears the case Tuesday afternoon, a verdict could take some time given the number of charges and the three different tracks jurors can choose from. However, documentary and physical evidence were stacked against Trump, and as Cobb noted, a guilty verdict seemed to be the direction the case was headed given the jury instructions.
The jury can go in all kinds of directions, and no one but the jurors knows what they’re thinking, but it doesn’t take much to read between the lines to understand that Trump and his supporters have been preparing his fans, And tried to pre- a guilty verdict in the media for weeks.
It bears repeating that once a jury hears a case, anything can happen. History is full of high-profile trials involving the rich and powerful, in which juries delivered unexpected verdicts. However, the general consensus among legal experts such as Cobb is that they expect Trump to be convicted.
