Dust off your PlayStation 5, because finally there are some new video games to play on it.
Well, not immediately, but soon. Sony spent about half an hour showcasing a slew of upcoming PS5 games during its State of Play livestream on Thursday. A total of 14 productions were screened, ranging from expected numbers to remakes, and a few surprises.
Here’s everything Sony showed off.
harmony
first of all harmony, a PvP first-person shooter from Firewalk Studios. I’ll cut to the chase: it looks like special attack meet Guardians of the Galaxy.
I mean, it stars a group of top-notch gun-toting rogue space travelers engaging in 5v5 objective-based combat. There’s no single-player campaign, but the game will be updated with weekly lore videos that theoretically allow players to participate in what’s going on. The game will be tested on PS5 and PC in July and released on August 23.
God of War: Ragnarok On the computer
remember God of War: Ragnarok? It’s coming to PC on September 19th.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Well, now we’ve made progress.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Looks to be a faithful follow-up to the long-running series that invented the “Musou” genre of over-the-top hack-and-slash action games. For reference, even Nintendo has had a Musou craze over the past decade; Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors. In short, they are very fun and very stupid games that eliminate thousands of disposable weak idiots at once.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins Will be launched in 2025.
Infinite Nick
Infinite Nick It was the weirdest thing Sony showed off on Thursday, but that’s not a bad thing at all.
All in all, it’s a new open-world sequel to a series of Chinese mobile games that focuses on the fashionable look of the protagonist. I’m not entirely sure how the open-world gameplay affects this, but at the very least, it seems like a refreshing break from games where you’re just running around and killing people. Count me in.
Mix and match speed of light
Antara Ballad
Coming to PS5 in 2025, Antara Ballad is a beautiful-looking fantasy action game launched by TipWorks Studio. It’s not entirely clear what’s going on in the trailer, other than the fact that your character seems to be carrying a child forever (even during big boss fights), but the fights look smooth and very soul-like. Interesting, if nothing else.
behemoth
behemoth A new VR fantasy action game from Skydance allows you to realize your dream of destroying bad guys with swords, bows, and all the means used in fantasy novels. If you still have PSVR2, you might as well give it a try when it launches this fall.
Alien: Rogue Invasion
This is first person alien VR horror games. That either sounds exciting or absolutely terrifying, depending on who you are. The trailer doesn’t show much, but you probably already know whether you’ll like it or not.
Marvel Rivals
Sony somehow found room for two special attack A clone in the playback state stream.
At least it’s a third-person game, though, and features all your favorite Marvel heroes. It can be fun to ruin someone’s day by repeatedly killing Venom. We’ll find out in the PS5 closed beta starting in July.
where the wind meets
Do you like martial arts action? where the wind meets Something from Chinese developer EverStone Studio might be for you.
With ancient China as the background, where the wind meets It is an open world action game where you can perform various elegant martial arts on your enemies. The trailer only gave us a first look at what the game will be capable of, but at the very least, it’d be cool to see more big-budget console games from Chinese developers coming to the United States.
until dawn remake
until dawn is a celebrity-studded horror adventure game for the PlayStation 4 that has become a huge hit. It will be coming to PS5 and PC later this year, with enhanced visuals. That is all that needs to be said about this.
Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile In recent years, due to its diablo– Similar gameplay and an intimidatingly large skill tree. Like, everyone knows. Check it out.
Regardless, the sequel is coming to consoles soon and will feature couch co-op, something that is sorely lacking in most modern console games. It will be launched by the end of 2024.
silent hill 2 remake
silent hill 2 Considered a masterpiece of psychological horror, and undoubtedly the best game in the series in twenty years. This is a modern remake of it…well, I’ll let you decide how it looks. what i want to tell you is silent Hill Fans were generally not happy about this.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom’s venerable monster-slaying series is back, and as usual, the new series looks like it could be great.
More specifically, this entry seems to emphasize story more than rise did it, and it It seems It’s like it has a huge old open world for players to explore. You can play by yourself as usual or with friends. If you have never tried monster hunterthis is definitely a good entry point.
astronomy robot
The last and most important point is astronomy robotthe complete sequel to the PS5 game Astro’s Playroom. It’s a very cute 3D platformer starring a funny little robot that Sony definitely needed to adopt as its mascot yesterday. This looks more interesting than the PlayStation cameo (PaRappa!) gaming roomSony confirmed that this is a full-length game, unlike the two-hour experience that came with the PS5 in 2020.
astronomy robot Launching September 6th.
