Special counsel Jack Smith is again trying to get Trump to stop endangering the lives of law enforcement officers.

The special counsel wrote in a new motion related to the classified documents case:
The government took action to modify the conditions of release of defendant Donald J. Trump to clarify that he is prohibited from making statements that would pose a substantial, imminent, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement officers involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case.
The government’s request is necessary because Trump has recently made several intentionally false and inflammatory statements that misrepresented the FBI’s planning and execution of the Mar-a-Lago search warrant. These statements seriously misled federal law enforcement officers about their intentions and actions, falsely suggested they were involved in a plot to assassinate him, and put those law enforcement officers, some of whom would be witnesses at his trial, at risk.
The court has an “independent duty to protect the integrity of this judicial process”,
…
Conditions of release that prohibit defendant from making statements that would pose a substantial, imminent, and foreseeable danger to law enforcement officers involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case are reasonable and necessary. Such an injunction would also minimize further prejudice caused by defendants communicating false and inflammatory information about the facts of this case to potential jurors who may be called by the court to serve on the jury in this matter.
Prosecutors argued that without meeting Trump’s conditions of release, the former president could not tamper with witnesses and the jury. Judge Erin Cannon rejected Smith’s first attempt for a gag order, so the special prosecutor is trying again.
Cannon’s continued protection of Trump appears likely to be subject to appeal at some point. Special Prosecutor Smith appears to be trying every reasonable remedy to protect witnesses and jurors.
We all know what Trump is going to do if his speech is not restricted. Trump has been relentless in his efforts to tamper with his case.
Judge Erin Cannon let him off the hook, but Jack Smith did not stop his efforts to protect witnesses, jurors and law enforcement officers.
