Still, the most interesting thing about the redesigned Ally isn’t necessarily its specs (although you should be excited about the potential doubled battery life), but its retuned ergonomics. This gaming handheld is the most comfortable device I’ve held since the Steam Deck, thanks to some subtle but welcome changes to the backplate, joysticks, and their triggers.
It’s too early to tell whether these upgrades will make for the best Windows handheld yet. However, in the short time I’ve been using it, I’ve already put it in the running for the best Windows gaming handheld, and is a clear, expensive rival to Valve’s Steam Deck OLED.
