Trump claimed on Sunday that he supports climate change because rising sea levels will create more beachfront properties.

Trump said:
The biggest threat is not global warming, when they say sea levels are going to rise an eighth of an inch in the next 400 years, you know, that means basically more beachfront properties. OK Think about it. Sea levels will rise. who knows? But this is a huge threat. I watched Biden the other night.
This is existentialism at its greatest. He liked the word because it was a big word. He thought, you know, he thought he knew he didn’t even know what the word actually meant. He said this is the greatest existential threat to our country. global warming.

According to a 2022 NASA study, U.S. sea levels are expected to rise by at least a foot in the next 20-30 years. Increases will be higher in the Southeast and Gulf Coast. There won’t be any more beachfront properties in the country. The country will suffer what are called catastrophic floods.
Rising sea levels will not create oceanfront properties, and sea levels will rise much faster than Trump suggests.
We can now add climate change, sea levels, tariffs and hurricanes to the list of things Donald Trump doesn’t understand.
