Rep. Adam Schiff said Trump is now a sexual abuser, a business fraudster, a convicted felon and completely unfit to hold public office.

Responding to Trump’s guilty verdict, Schiff said:
Today is the day justice catches up with Donald Trump, and I do think that in a democracy as stressed as ours, we should take heart that, you know, the system works. Twelve ordinary Americans found the former President of the United States guilty or not guilty. This is an amazing thing. This is not possible in most countries in the world. So I think it’s a great day for the justice system.
Another thing that surprises me is that this is a victory for the New York justice system. This is not a victory for the federal justice system. As you pointed out before, Donald Trump was the top coconspirator in the Southern District of New York indictment, and based largely on those facts, the Department of Justice said Michael Cohen needed to go to jail for his role in it. In the cases where the Justice Department did charge Donald Trump, they did not charge Donald Trump. In Florida and Washington, D.C., federal judges, especially those on the Supreme Court, as well as Florida judges, have deliberately echoed Donald Trump’s efforts to delay justice.
New York’s judicial system held him accountable. And, you know, I think the people of New York should be proud that their citizens were able to determine the guilt or innocence of a former president of the United States. He’s in New York now, he’s been convicted of a sexual abuse, he’s been convicted of a business fraud. He is now a convicted felon. Someone with such a record is clearly unfit for public office.

Rep. Schiff is right. The federal justice system failed, but New York state held Trump accountable in multiple cases.
There’s an assumption among pundits that voters already know everything there is to know about Trump, so anything else that might come along won’t impress voters, but when Adam Schiff puts the whole situation together, it reveals a bigger picture than 2016 Darker, more serious situations, 2020.
These are not opinions. They are legal findings, a message Democrats need to use to remind voters why Trump is unfit to return to the White House.
