An American man who threatened Taylor Swift on social media ahead of her first Era Tour in Germany has been detained.
The 34-year-old man, whose name was not released by authorities, will be held in Gelsenkirchen until Saturday. The “Torture Poet Division” singer will take to the stage again on Thursday and Friday nights.
The suspected stalker had a ticket to Swift’s concert at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday, police said in a statement. The man was investigated but the risk could not be ruled out, resulting in him being detained on entry to the venue.

The alleged stalker made threats on social media against Swift and her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce. The organizers of the German leg of “The Eras Tour” notified police of the threat.
Police claimed there was no danger to Swift or spectators at any time. About 60,000 people attended Wednesday night’s concert, and the atmosphere was calm.

After a stop in Germany, Swift will travel to Poland and Austria before returning to London for five more shows starting on August 15.
She will then take a month off before taking the stage for the final time in the United States in October.

“I think a lot of people are thinking, ‘Well, how are you going to celebrate your 100th show?'” Swift said on stage. “For me, celebrating the 100th show means for me it’s the first time I’ve admitted to myself and acknowledged that this tour is going to end in December.”
“Like, that’s it,” she continued. “It still feels so far away. But then again, it feels like I just did my first show on this tour because you guys made it so much fun for us that we want to do 100, About 150 performances.”
Swift revealed that touring has become her “entire life” and joked that she couldn’t remember her hobby.
“When I’m not on stage, all I do is sit at home and try to come up with some clever mashups of acoustic songs and think about what you might like to listen to.”
