An alternative news outlet that supported Trump and fairly covered news relevant to millions of Americans shut down its website this week and announced it would become a Substack-based publication, in large part due to the government’s ongoing suppression of speech. Movement against dissident media.
Big League Politics was founded in 2017 by former Breitbart.com employees and was acquired a year later by Mustard Seed Media, owned by North Carolina-based Riley O’Neal. O’Neal’s background includes Ron Paul’s 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns.
The site is run by O’Neill and a long list of editors who typically leave after a year.
Other important sites, such as VDare.com, shut down last month after a years-long campaign of legal harassment by New York Attorney General Letitia James. VDare was never charged, but the legal costs of fighting the endless investigation bankrupted the immigration reform pipeline.
Key left-wing billionaires fund frivolous civil lawsuits against Fox News, Rudy Giuliani, Alex Jones, OAN, Newsmax, and the Gateway Pundit. The spurious criminal indictments against Epoch Times executives also show that this is part of a pattern with the clear intent of bankrupting these dissident outlets.
In MLB Politics’ seven years as a national outlet, it has covered several major stories and exposés, including:
- Detroit Declassified: Shane Trejo breaks the story, with audio proving Detroit election workers are being trained to lie to Republicans and use coronavirus as a cover to hide voter fraud in the 2020 election – link
- Debunking the ‘Ghost of Kiev’ Ukraine War Propaganda: Jordan Epperson breaks the news that purported video footage of a heroic Ukrainian fighter pilot is actually a reused video game clip – link
- Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s ‘blackface’ controversy: Patrick Howley reports that Virginia’s Democratic governor, Ralph Northam, was pictured in his medical school yearbook with a dressed Ku Klux Klan member visibly wearing black Face. Northam initially denied the photo was real, and mainstream media sought to suppress the story, which exposed the hypocrisy and casual racism of the elected left-wing elite. – Association
Conservative outlets rarely receive recognition or praise from any mainstream outlet, even if they are the original source of a story, but the BLP has several publications that acknowledge their role in breaking news. The Wall Street Journal acknowledged the BLP as the original source of the 2019 controversy over Gov. Ralph Northam.
The BLP was recognized for its important Detroit Declassified reporting when Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel threatened the publication for releasing audio files showing Detroit election workers being trained to lie. Nessel asked that the story be removed.
Gateway Pundit published an interview with Trejo’s Detroit Declassified whistleblower who documented election workers, content that the government has repeatedly suppressed from the media and search engines. Most content and stories are available completely disappear from the internet.
The only place where you can find the original audio is at BitChute, here .
Owner O’Neill removed offending content, including the recording, from the site and deleted the page after far-left Nessel threatened to sue the publication. A request from the Michigan Attorney General led the site to remove one of its major news stories.
“The cost of litigation was simply not worth it, so it was removed,” said one former BLP writer. “You won’t find this story anywhere except for one or two random mentions. It’s almost entirely a memory hole.
Grand coalition politics are subject to severe censorship and repression. It’s shadowbanned on Twitter, and, its former author says, it can’t be found in searches on Twitter unless its exact name is entered. Former BLP contributor says repression remains unchanged even after free speech advocate Elon Musk acquired Twitter.
The site’s Facebook traffic was lackluster and didn’t spread to fans’ timelines. This is consistent with the experience of many conservative outlets, which have reported that Facebook built audiences, only for the site to suddenly change its algorithm and stop any recommendations for conservative outlets.
Big League has a sizeable following on Gab, but insiders say they lost their login information for the free speech social media platform, so no one can log in and it’s difficult to contact the site’s owners.
Unable to promote their content and get noticed in the attention economy, view counts continue to drop. “The site’s traffic looks like it’s fallen off a cliff, largely due to left-wing deplatforming and suppression, but also from errors in ownership,” one former writer said.
By the end, most of its web traffic came from email list rentals and distribution, one of the last resort options for sites and political dissidents who had lost their platform elsewhere.
“Instead of attracting new audiences and followers, they can only continue to hit their email lists and the rest are shadowbanned and de-platformed. The future of dissident journalism in the United States may be a lot like what big league politics is experiencing now Case.
Billionaires are bankrupting conservative sports media, governments are attacking your existence and demanding your spicy content be suppressed, and far-left social media company owners gloat in their commitment to free speech while your voices are cut off Commitment, while each service provider said: “We are harassing you to get you to give up.”
The government’s ongoing illegal mass crackdown on conservative media is currently being litigated in the United States. Missouri v. Biden The case suffered a setback this summer when Judge Amy Coney-Barrett refused to grant the government an injunction to continue suppressing conservative speech while the case was pending.
The legacy of grand coalition politics is difficult to assess, especially because of rampant and illegal government censorship and collusion with big tech companies to attack dissident media on social media sites.
However, the former writer for Grand Alliance Politics believes that their content has had a significant impact: “I think we do a really good job, not just from a journalistic perspective, but our human rights-based dissident journalism by countering lies and The rebuttal helped avert World War III.
He added: “While other major talking heads are calling for war, I am proud of the way we have used our platform as a means to promote peace with Russia.”
Still, other writers have been critical of the site and say at least part of the blame lies with how the site is managed and run. “This should mean that the original team is no longer here.
This place was originally started by people from Breitbart News, but most of them gave up within the first year. There wasn’t a lot of continuity,” said one former writer.
Sometimes you don’t get paid until 8 months late. If your account is locked, you could be stuck for months. There’s not much incentive to break out scoops. Editors were frustrated and you never knew how long it was going to take to get a story published on the site,” said one frustrated former writer.
The new version of the site is hosted on Substack, and the site claims to have over 2,000 current subscribers. Insiders say this is a significant drop from previous traffic. They said that on its worst days, the site averaged 5,000 visitors, and on its best days, it reached 500,000. Now it must rebuild its audience one piece at a time and hope that another big tech platform doesn’t destroy it by reporting on content the company doesn’t like.
