A poll from a few weeks ago showed Donald Trump with a slight lead over Joe Biden in Virginia. Now another poll shows the same story. This could be big news.
If Trump defeats Biden in Virginia in November, Biden will be finished. Republicans haven’t carried Virginia in a presidential race since 2004.
A Trump victory here would mean a landslide electoral victory.
WRIC News Report:
New poll shows Trump leading Biden in Virginia, political analysts say Biden is in ‘big trouble’
New polls show former President Donald Trump defeating President Joe Biden in Virginia.
The latest Emerson College poll sponsored by WRIC parent company Nexstar found that 45% of registered voters in Virginia supported Trump, with Biden receiving 43% of the vote.
“The real question is, will all this affect Biden? Are people around him telling him?” said Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia. “He’s in deep, deep, deep in trouble.”
Sabato said the poll should serve as a warning to the Biden campaign. Biden defeated Trump in Virginia by 10 percentage points and is expected to win the White House in 2020.
“Biden’s performance is 12 points below his 2020 performance,” Sabato said. “It’s terrible. I mean, it’s really terrible. He’s the current president.
Democrats are right to be concerned.
