We already know that more advanced Apple Intelligence features can come at a price. Now Apple analysts are predicting what that price might be.
Neil Shah, partner at Counterpoint Research, told CNBC that a monthly subscription for advanced AI capabilities could cost between $10 and $20. “Software and services make it more profitable for Apple to deliver it through the Apple One subscription model,” Shah told the outlet.

Therefore, some Apple Intelligence access rights can be bundled into an Apple One subscription as a higher subscription level. Apple One starts at $19.95 per month and includes Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+, which are premium versions of free Apple services. From that perspective, a paid Apple Intelligence subscription would fit into the freemium model it uses with other companies. “Apple is one of the few connected device companies that has been able to successfully monetize the value-added services it provides,” Ben Wood, principal researcher at CCS Insight, told CNBC.
Mix and match speed of light
According to previous reports, Apple is exploring Apple Intelligence+ to obtain subscription revenue sharing with artificial intelligence partners such as OpenAI. It’s also a way to offset the cost of investing in AI, which isn’t cheap.
Its timing is uncertain. Even some of the Apple Intelligence features announced at this year’s WWDC won’t be available until next year. These include features related to Siri’s artificial intelligence transformation, such as understanding personal context and screen awareness.
However, you can now try out some Apple Intelligence features through the iOS 18.1 developer beta. Writing tools, call recording, and some new artificial intelligence Siri features are available for testing. And they are currently free.
