AT&T and Verizon have resolved outages that knocked out calls across the United States. The issue appears to be affecting calls between customers of both services.
AT&T spokesman Jim Kimberly said that during the outage, edge“We are not experiencing a nationwide outage on our network. This is a nationwide issue that is impacting some customers’ ability to complete calls between carriers. We are working closely with Verizon to determine the nature of the issue and the need What actions to take.
Verizon spokesman Kevin H. King also said the network was “operating normally,” but noted that customers primarily in the Northeast and Midwest were “on the phone with customers who are served by another carrier.” Or you encountered a problem while sending a text message.
We still don’t know the exact time or cause of the outage. Charts for Verizon and AT&T on DownDetector show that the problem may start around 2 PM ET and resolve around 8 PM ET.
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission also investigated the issue. “We are aware of reports that consumers in multiple states are unable to make wireless calls, and we are currently investigating,” the FCC wrote in a post on X.
In February, AT&T experienced a massive outage that disrupted service for thousands of customers across the country. The operator later apologized for the outage and offered affected customers a $5 credit.
