In new video interview NetflixCumberbatch reflects on his career so far, including anchor’s new limited series Eric— but highlights Marvel’s Doctor Strange , in which it seems we’ll see the character again avengers 5which may be caused by Sean Levy. “Well, I’ll be honest. The joy of playing him was tremendous, but the joy of playing him also meant that I could help create and platform the story and the writing as opposed to something commercial,” the actor shared . The main role in The Avengers gave him the creative freedom to be more foreign in other roles, “so he’s been a gift in a lot of ways in my life as a producer.”
He continued. “As an actor, I loved playing him. He was so funny. I mean, I was originally going to play him, but then I couldn’t because I had booked Hamlet and this was happening and then they disappeared. And then they came back to me very quickly, which was great. They moved the entire factory line over to my schedule and we’ve had a very good relationship with the company since then,” he added.
