Transcript from CBS’s Face The Nation:
ROBERT COSTA: You just heard about Senator Sanders. How would you feel if former President Trump won in November?
Sen. SANDERS: Well, as someone who opposes almost all of Trump’s policies, I would feel bad. I would be very sad if the American people lost the democracy we have had for 250 years. I would feel bad if we ignored the existential threats posed by climate change. But it’s not about how I feel, it’s not about how you feel, it’s not even about how Joe Biden feels. It’s about how we win this election. Maybe what we should be doing is building a Democratic Party with Biden as its top leader, standing with the working class of this country. I’ll tell you this, whether you’re a Republican, a Democrat, or an independent: The American people are disillusioned, they’re angry, and they think the government is too busy focusing on wealthy campaign donors. By the way, I find it personally insulting that the New York Times and all these media outlets have a front-page story like, “This is what billionaire campaign donors feel like.” Well, to hell with billionaire campaign donors. Let’s worry about the working class in this country and what their needs are.
Senator Sanders is right. Where did the New York Times get all its fodder for the Biden crisis story? The information comes either from Capitol Hill Democrats, members of the Democratic National Committee or billionaire donors. Why is the New York Times putting the agenda of billionaires over that of working people?
The New York Times is no longer a newspaper of record. It is a record of the feelings of billionaires and elites.
The New York Times hates Biden because he stands with working people and works to make their lives better.
