Biden-Harris campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond dismissed rumors that Joe Biden is considering dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.
The Gateway Pundit reported Thursday that influential Democrats including Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are doubting Biden’s viability. Schumer and Jeffries are allegedly working behind the scenes to undermine Biden.
The fact that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries reportedly persuaded the Democratic National Committee to delay a vote on the presidential nomination lends credence to this assertion.
The Democratic National Committee said Wednesday they would not hold virtual roll call votes until August, leaving room for a coup.
According to Newsmax TV reporter Mark Halperin, Biden “plans to announce his withdrawal from the nomination as early as this weekend, most likely on Sunday.”
Biden is not expected to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris or resign as president. Halperin suggested holding a public meeting with Harris and the other three candidates. He mentioned potential running mates for Harris, including Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.

However, Biden-Harris campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond refuted these claims in an interview with MSNBC.
Asked whether reports from The New York Times and other media outlets that Biden was considering dropping out of the Democratic race were correct, Richmond responded:
“The New York Times report is absolutely wrong and has always been wrong. The president said he was running, end of story. He was just in Nevada talking to the NAACP and he was running for his office. campaign with the Vice President.

Richmond further added that Biden remains committed to his campaign and believes he is best positioned to defeat Donald Trump.
“President Biden is the leader of the party. He’s been talking to leadership and what they’ve expressed to him, I’m sure that will remain between them because they don’t talk privately about what they talk about and discuss but I’m going to say What’s more, the president has repeatedly said he is the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump.
In fact, he’s the only person to ever defeat Donald Trump. Donald Trump has an extreme 2025 agenda. He went the extra mile with J.D. Vance. All these things, this is what we should be talking about.
If we talk about that, the poll numbers will change and we’ll move in the right direction. But the president isn’t going anywhere. The president can win, so we should campaign on these issues because we’re right on the issue.
Values and character. If you look at the other side, you’ll see this man only cares about himself, lies all the time, was impeached twice, and was convicted of 34 felonies. This is what we should be discussing.
