President Joe Biden has steadfastly insisted that only divine intervention can end his reelection bid, but that hasn’t completely stopped the bleeding. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, whose interview with Biden on Friday was aimed at reassuring fellow Democrats, now says it’s clear Biden can’t serve another four years. Some congressional Democrats have already attacked him, with some suggesting they would prefer he step down.
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Virginia, called on the president to “do something patriotic for this country.” Even politicians who ostensibly support him are sending mixed signals. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reiterated that she will support any decision Biden makes despite his Have decided to continue running. It’s like Tony Soprano ostensibly letting his subordinates decide whether to do a hit by saying, “I trust you to do the right thing.”

But the most devastating defection for Biden may well be that of George Clooney, who wrote an op-ed for Biden New York Times Wednesday called on the president to withdraw. Clooney isn’t just a celebrity supporter, he’s actually a major fundraiser for Biden.
“Last month, I co-hosted one of the largest fundraisers ever to support President Biden’s reelection and support the Democratic nominee,” he wrote. “I love Joe Biden. As a Senator . As vice president and president. I believe in him. I believe in his morals and he’s won a lot of the battles he’s faced over the past four years.
“But the one battle he can’t win is the battle against time.”
Cloney is at least somewhat qualified to personally judge Biden’s cognitive decline; he recently met Biden up close. His June 15 fundraiser for the president, in which Jimmy Kimmel interviewed Biden and former President Barack Obama, raised $28 million for the campaign. Former Obama advisers David Axelrod and Jon Favreau, who also attended the fundraiser, told CNN that everyone who interacted with Biden at the event was deeply Feeling worried.

These sudden revelations certainly tell us something about Biden’s health. They also reveal the extent of the media’s perfidy on the subject. Recall that video footage of this fundraiser was widely derided as unfairly Describing Biden as fading; this is seen as one of the textbook examples of Republicans seizing on what White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called “cheap fakes.” Of course, she’s not the only one: New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBCand countless other media organizations assert that the president’s critics deceived the masses into doubting his fitness to serve as president based on misleading, manipulated videos.
But now we know that behind the scenes, Biden’s most loyal foot soldiers Know The video in question was not manipulated, and concerns about Biden’s cognitive decline are valid — they may even share the same concerns. In their rush to accept the White House’s line of argument, exonerating the president from age-related questions and instead accusing Republicans of “swooping in,” did they forget to ask Biden’s close friends what they think of his recent behavior?

Now that we’re past season two Dragon HouseLast Sunday premiered a very strong episode: “Red Dragon and Gold.” (Spoilers below). Finally, we see a real battle between dragons and dragonriders, as Green Team’s forces lure Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) into an ambush.
I’m delighted with how faithful the show is to the source material, which is a huge improvement over the original game of Thrones. Author George R.R. Martin seems to retain greater control over the series than in the previous installment, and as a result, there are far fewer instances of characters behaving arbitrarily and inconsistently. I was particularly impressed by our main antagonist, Aegon II Targaryen. There are slight similarities to Joffrey Baratheon from the original series, as they were both angsty teenagers and outlaw monarchs. But Joffrey was unhinged, cruel, and cowardly, while Aegon was at least well-intentioned. he didn’t enjoy Harm others unless they have wronged him. (Who could begrudge a father who wants to kill the murderer of his infant son?) He’s a bit of an idiot and an alcoholic, but he’s not completely unsympathetic. Actor Tom Glynn-Carney does a great job: I enjoyed seeing his genuine affection for the dragon Sunfyre.
So did Rhaenys of Bast, who gently urged her dragons onward, saying: “We go to war again, old girl.” When Prince Aemond Targaryen appeared with the terrible Varghar, Rhaenys knew she was doomed, but she fulfilled her role anyway: a true MVP. The CGI dragons are beautifully rendered, unlike in later seasons. game of Thronesthis Popular D The crew actually deploys them for effective narrative purposes. When dragons wage war, the whole world burns.
