Los Angeles police arrested Ryan Garcia for felony vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Beverly Hills.
TMZ reports that the boxer was arrested on Saturday afternoon for apparent damage to hotel property, including his room.
According to the Daily Mail,
TMZ claims Garcia “appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs” but cooperated with authorities during his arrest.
The 25-year-old defeated Devin Haney earlier this year, but his inconsistent performance in the fight left many questioning whether he was mentally stable enough to compete. After his unexpected victory, he failed a doping test.
TMZ reported earlier this week that Garcia was checked by police at the same hotel after receiving calls from family members concerned about Garcia’s health. The offer had apparently established that he was fine and that was the end of it.
But his arrest in California on Saturday was the latest concerning incident for Garcia.

Garcia has previously made harrowing accusations about an elite child trafficking network and disturbing personal stories.
He divorced Andrea Celina in December 2023, shortly after the birth of their second child.
As the boxer prepared for his April fight with Haney, he posted a series of shocking and erratic messages online, raising serious questions about his mental health, including one claiming he had his throat slashed .

Garcia also claimed he was raped by a family member as a child, while claiming he was tied up in the woods by “elites” and forced to watch children being raped.
Concerned about his mental state, he was nearly four pounds overweight for his fight with WBC super lightweight champion Haney, meaning that although he won that night, he was not awarded the title.
Despite appearing to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, the 25-1 fighter peacefully complied with authorities.
