Democratic Sen. John Fetterman (Pa.) and his wife, Giselle Fetterman, were injured in a car crash in Maryland on Sunday morning and were taken to a nearby hospital.
John Fetterman was reportedly driving when he crashed into the back of a Chevrolet Impala.
“According to the preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Traverse and a Chevrolet Impala were both traveling westbound on Interstate 70 when, for unknown reasons, the Traverse struck the rear of the Impala,”
Maryland State Police said in a statement.
“A passenger on the Traverse and the operator of the Impala were transported by ambulance to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia for treatment,” authorities said.
John Fetterman injured his shoulder.
Senator Fetterman and his wife were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.
No subpoenas were issued.

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman (D) and his wife were involved in a car crash in western Maryland over the weekend.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 and Interstate 68 in Hancock around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Maryland State Police said Senator Fetterman was driving a Chevrolet Traverse when for unknown reasons he crashed into the back of a Chevrolet Impala.
Senator Fetterman and his wife, Gisele, were taken to nearby West Virginia War Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
Senator Fetterman was treated for a bruised shoulder and released, according to a statement from Fetterman’s office.
Recall that John Fetterman suffered brain damage after suffering a severe stroke in May 2022.
The Pennsylvania Democrat also spent two months receiving treatment for clinical depression at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after suffering a stroke.
Fetterman’s condition was so bad that he had to use Google Meet during his interview with New York Magazine because it offers closed captioning.
