Brighton are in talks with Celtic over a deal for Matt O’Reilly, with Chelsea and a number of other clubs interested in the midfielder.
O’Reilly has been the subject of bids from Atalanta this summer, with other clubs from the Premier League and abroad also interested.

O’Reilly, who made 49 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season, scoring 19 goals and providing 18 assists, opened the season with a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock Celtic on Sunday. The team scored the second goal.
The 23-year-old is contracted to Celtic until 2027, with the club rejecting a £20m bid from Atletico Madrid in January.

“The relationship with Matt was actually pretty easy because he’s such a great professional,” he told us sky sports news.
“The challenge for teams coming to a club like Celtic is they sometimes put their value in the league rather than the players.
“What’s important to me is that if a player does leave here, they pay for the player and that doesn’t always happen.
“No player is going to leave here unless the valuation is right and no team is at that level yet.”
