Uncasville, Connecticut – Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever struggled on their return to Connecticut, falling to the Sun 89-72. Indiana opened with a 21-point underdog in Connecticut before falling to the Indiana Sun 88-84, moving them to 0-3 on the season against one of the WNBA’s best teams.
Clark was unable to replicate her performance against the Washington Mystics on Friday, when she scored 30 points in the Fever’s victory.

The Suns held May’s WNBA Rookie of the Year to 10 points, and she played just 22 minutes in the game — she left the game midway through the third quarter after picking up her fourth foul and never played again. Get on the field.
After the game, Clark was clearly disappointed with her performance, but she did smile when I asked her about UConn men’s basketball head coach Dan Hurley’s choice to turn down the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job and stay with the Huskies.
“I saw it,” Clark said with a smile when I started asking about Hurley’s decision.

“I mean, filming, two really good choices,” Clark replied with a laugh. “I really admire [Hurley]. I love his intensity. I think the way he coaches the game is great. The way he coaches his players and holds them accountable is amazing. He really got the best out of them.
Interestingly, Clark immediately talked about holding his players accountable, which is one of the qualities she admires most about a UConn head coach. Players generally don’t like such coaches, at least not yet, although many later realize it’s in their best interests.
“I’ve really enjoyed watching them play over the past few years and I think it’s cool that he’s staying in college basketball,” she continued. “I think he really loves it, I think he loves being around those young guys and obviously, he makes them great. I’ve always been a big fan of his and a big fan of his show and it’s great to watch them. interesting”.

Of course, Clark wasn’t the only one with this idea. After winning back-to-back national championships, Hurley decided to return for a three-peat rather than test the NBA waters with the Los Angeles Lakers. That’s good news for college basketball, and Kaitlin Clark knows a thing or two about it.
