“I was shocked. I think all of us were shocked. It was shocking to see and hear the final sprint of this race in this peaceful, green environment,” Fred Ackerman told the media. .
Although dozens of people were around the youth sporting event, no one spotted the alleged shooter, Ackerman said.
“No one saw the shooter,” he said. “There were dozens of people there, as well as boaters and people walking up and down the trail. The police didn’t know where the shots were coming from, but they knew it was a gun.”
