Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquis Brown was hospitalized after suffering an injury during an NFL preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday.
Brown, who was introduced by the Chiefs in the off-season, suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation in the team’s 26-13 loss. On the first play of the game, he landed awkwardly on his left shoulder after an 11-yard catch.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Brown is likely to miss the game and his status against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 is in jeopardy.
“I think he’s going to be out for a while,” Reid said. “We’ll see how he’s doing now. He’s going through this right now and we’ll know more later.”
The Chiefs signed Brown to a one-year, $7 million deal in March after two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He had 51 catches for 574 yards in the 2023 season.
