The former U.S. Open champion relied on a wild card into the main draw in Cincinnati, but organizers have awarded wild cards to Caroline Wozniacki, Bianca Andreescu, Payton Si Ternes and Caroline Dolehead in the competition taking place August 12-19 – live Sky Sports Tennis and Sky Sports+.
Now the 21-year-old will likely arrive in New York instead of playing in Toronto and Cincinnati.
