Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shaddell Sanders and recent transfer Gavin Kurder got into a heated war of words on social media this week.
Cooder was Buffalo’s backup quarterback last season. He entered the transfer portal two weeks ago amid a wave of Deion Sanders recruits leaving the program. After deciding to leave, Cudd said in an interview with MagDogTV that he was unhappy with how Shaddell Sanders used his change.

Sanders appeared to have caught wind of the interview and took aim at the Kurds on social media.
“I know sometimes you have to take the high road. @GKuld I will only spare you this once,” he wrote in a post on X.
He later appeared to attack the media, saying, “You’re interviewing anyone who’s left Colorado just to get a negative view of the program.”
Sanders has been targeting players who have exited the program since an interview with The Athletic last month.

Former Buffalo defensive back Xavier Smith told The Athletic that he disagreed with the way Coach Prime handled the roster overhaul when he took over as head coach.
He told The Athletic that Sanders told him he should “probably get in the portal” and didn’t want him to “waste a year wondering if I could win a seat.”
“I was really angry and in tears. Because, man, you never even tried to understand me,” Smith added.

The squabbling on social media threw the project into further confusion. Colorado won four games last season after an upset win over TCU early in the year.
