At its Google I/O developer showcase on Tuesday, Google unveiled a slew of new artificial intelligence tools and artificial intelligence models. Artificial intelligence was so important to Google I/O that CEO Sundar Pichai counted the number of times someone said “artificial intelligence” 121 times. So here’s a quick breakdown.
Google Artificial Intelligence Tools
- I understand: Project VEO is Google’s video generation tool that lets you create videos based on video, images, or text prompts.
- Artificial intelligence teammates: Google’s Gemini project-driven “virtual teammate” — which it called Chip as a sample during an on-stage demonstration — can be used to check things like the progress of work projects, as the company demonstrated on stage.
- Project Astra: Google’s Project Astra is sort of an evolution of Google Glass, using your phone’s camera and artificial intelligence to do things like find lost keys or misplaced glasses, and locate things that make sounds.
- Trip planning: Google is teasing its Gemini AI assistant’s travel planning features – although they don’t constitute an entirely new tool in and of themselves – allowing the assistant to generate personalized trips, including flight itineraries and hotel reservations.
- Scam call monitoring: Gemini can monitor incoming calls and identify suspected scam calls by displaying warning pop-ups.
- Circle search: You can use gestures to select something on your phone (for example, by circling it or highlighting it) and get other information. Circle to Search is expected to be available on 200 million Android devices by the end of 2024.
- Talk back: To assist users with low vision and blindness, the TalkBack screen reader describes what’s on the screen.
- Gmail artificial intelligence features: The company’s email client has a range of Gemini-powered artificial intelligence features, including Smart Replies, which can provide personalized answers based on email threads and suggested replies.
- Artificial Intelligence Overview: Google’s Search Generated Experience (SGE) isn’t new, but it’s rolling out to all users in the United States. This feature aggregates information at the top of Google search results pages.
- image 3: Google’s text-to-image generator Imagen 3 can create images based on prompts.
- Synthetic ID: SynthID allows you to add watermarks to AI-generated images and videos.
Google artificial intelligence model
- Gemini 1.5 Pro model: Google Gemini — Google’s ChatGPT competitor — benefits from updates that make it smarter, more conversational, and good at handling complex tasks.
- Gemini 1.5 Flash Memory: As the name suggests, Gemini 1.5 Flash prioritizes quick answers as it is a lightweight version of Gemini compared to 1.5 Pro.
