Darius Rucker broke his silence when he was arrested in February, saying, “That’s what it is.”
Authorities in Tennessee took Rook, 58, into custody on February 1 after the “Wagon Wheel” singer turned himself in. The charges were previously confirmed by Fox News Digital.
“I fell and we dealt with it,” Luck said during an appearance on the “Today” show on Tuesday. “My attorney is handling it. That’s what it is.”

DARIUS RUCKER arrested with marijuana and LSD on him when pulled over in Tennessee: Police
“It’s funny because I was going to a friend’s house and they were moving and wanted me to take some stuff with me,” Luck told the outlet. “I did that and I got pulled over and stopped. And the crazy thing is, they let me go.”
“A year later, I got a call saying there was a warrant for my arrest,” he continued. “So I went down there. In fifty-seven years, I had never seen the inside of a cell.”
Luck was originally stopped by the Franklin Police Department in February 2023 for an expired tag, Officer Ryan Shuman told Fox News Digital at the time of the country music star’s arrest.
During the stop, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana and discovered a jar of unstamped pills. Luck handed over a small piece of marijuana before police searched him. Luck said he didn’t know what the drugs were because his girlfriend had given them to him, according to authorities.
Luck was released during the 2023 traffic stop pending identification of the unmarked pills. The pills were later identified by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as psilocin, also known as psychedelic mushrooms. A warrant was issued for Luck’s arrest in December, and Luck turned himself in nearly a year after the initial traffic stop.

Luck claimed the drugs found on him during the traffic stop belonged to his friend.
“They’re moving, but they can’t fly with them,” he explained to “Today.” “They said, ‘Are you okay with this?’ I said, ‘Yes.
Rock’s attorney, Mark Puryear, said in a statement shared with Fox News Digital at the time of the arrest that the musician was “fully cooperating” with authorities.

After releasing four albums with Hootie & the Blowfish, Rucker embarked on a solo journey after the band went on hiatus in 2008.
