Republic Records has appointed David Wolter and Miles Beard as co-heads of East and West Coast A&R.
President and Chief Creative Officer Wendy Goldstein made the announcement today (July 15).
Walt worked at Republic Records’ New York headquarters, while Beard worked at Republic Records’ Los Angeles offices.
Wolter and Beard will work with multiple businesses and strategic alliances to co-lead, develop and lead A&R for the Republic Records roster, working with Republic Records Executive Vice President Danielle Price, who leads the Hip-Hop/R&B A&R team.
Most recently, Walt has worked with Conan Grey, Greta Van Fleet (LAVA) and Miranda Lambert. He has also recently signed LIVINGSTON, The Dare, Zoe Kravitz and other bands with Republic Records.
Meanwhile, Beard helped forge a strategic alliance with Mavin in support of Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr, and according to Republic, projects from Jonas Brothers, Stray Kids (JYP), TXT (HYBE) and more are “coming soon.”
Prior to joining Republic Records in 2022, Walt served as Executive Vice President of Capitol Music Group Virgin Records since 2017.
During his ten years at RCA Records, he signed Jack Antonoff’s solo projects Bleachers, Walk The Moon, Elle King and more. He signed Gorillaz while at Virgin Records from 1997 to 2007.
Players signed by Beard include Charlie Puth, Alec Benjamin and others. He has also worked closely with songwriters such as David Guetta, Jason Derulo, Pitbull and Lowell, Riley Mcdonough, and Johnny Goldstein.
Prior to joining Republic in 2022, Beard spent ten years at APG, rising from intern to senior vice president of A&R. Prior to that, he worked 30,000 hours as a DJ at nightclubs, KIIS FM shows and private events across the United States starting at the age of 13, according to Republic.
