Last week, DC Comics revealed more details about its upcoming Absolute comic, which aims to reintroduce classic DC characters with new, updated origins and backgrounds. While it’s about Darkseid, the big draw is the new looks for Batman (strong!), Superman (long hair!), and Wonder Woman (sword!).
The most surprising is the Dark Knight, as Bruce’s body type tends to be more slender than the giant mammoth that is the absolute Batman. During a panel today at San Diego Comic-Con, Snyder shared some new details about him and Nick Dragota Absolute Batman The comic will be published in October. If you’re a tall guy, Snyder revealed that this version of Bruce is 6-foot-2, 250 pounds, in his early 20s, and dedicated to fighting crime. He stopped pretending to be a wealthy socialite and instead became Gotham City’s city engineer. Also a French bulldog owner!
Snyder calls this a “top-to-bottom reimagining” of the character, and he’s not kidding. While no plot details were revealed, he further revealed that the book’s main villain (at least for now) will be Black Mask, while Alfred Pennyworth will be the book’s first-person character. Although Alfred (or rather, “Petunia”) was old, he was definitely not and never had been a butler. Instead, he’s a former MI6 spy and “old guard of the Empire” who’s not too tired to team up with Batman on the battlefield.
After Snyder, Jason Aaron talks about his relationship with Rafael Sandoval Absolutely superhuman. After Snyder contacted him about making the jump from Marvel to DC, Aaron decided he “really wanted” to star in Man of Steel and devised a new character for the role. He assured that his goal was not to change the core of the hero, but to “look at [his] Original concepts and asking what they would look like if created today. The new Superman lacks the Kent family’s classic support system, the Fortress of Solitude, and he’s essentially homeless. For Aaron, the great attraction of the Absolute Universe is that the Trinity is so isolated from one another. “Things didn’t go the way they were expected,” he said. “It makes Superman a little isolated, a little angry…and a little sexy, if you ask me.”
Finally, Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman’s Absolute Wonder Woman Sherman said Diana will be remembered as “the last Amazon and the first superhero.” Of the three, she has the most interesting arm tattoos and large sword look. In addition to being a warrior, she is also a “witch armed to the teeth” who grew up in hell. […] Her heart is filled with fire. If that’s not metal enough, her winged black skeleton horse might seal the deal. The deal with Diana and the conflict she will face are still being kept under wraps.
In addition to the Trinity, there is a fourth absolute The book is on the way. By early 2025, Jeff Lemire and Nick Robles will launch Absolutely sparkly Although the group didn’t provide any details beyond its existence:
