Crunchyroll just announced it has acquired the rights to the upcoming movie Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Castle and will be released as a trilogy of theatrical films, concluding the story and series On the big screen.
“demon slayer have is an extraordinary franchise, We at Crunchyroll are excited to be involved from the beginning,” Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini said in a press release. “Crunchyroll is excited to bring this trilogy of films to fans on the big screen, and when it hits theaters, it promises to be one of the truly epic, far-reaching pop culture events of our time.”
The films will be co-distributed by Sony and distributed globally, including in a handful of Asian territories including Japan. While the movie doesn’t have a release date, there is a trailer. check it out.
Time goes back to 2021, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train Released in the United States and caused a sensation, almost opening at the top of the box office. The audience for anime in theaters clearly exists, so this deal makes a lot of sense. But will the trilogy be released one after another? How long we have to wait?
