Star Wars: Discovery end of weekthere is a plot, maybe it is true Discover style, combines some wild curveballs with an equally wild pace, giving us a plot rich with ups and downs. But it did save the weirdest moment for last: Even weirder, this might be Discoverthe next big story If it had gone into another season.
The final act of Life Itself, the hour-and-a-half finale Star Wars: Discovery, giving way to a flash-forward after the events of the rest of the finale have concluded (arguably hastily). Life is good with current Admiral Michael Burnham, an idyllic semi-retired life with husband Book, and a son who has just been promoted to captain Discoverof always be considered a hero. But we find out she’s on one of Agent Kovich’s last mysterious missions: the dump Discover Abandoned in a faraway place in space and then refurbished to its original 23rd century design, the ship and its sentient computer Zora remain untouched by anything but the word “Craft” Didn’t say anything either.
It’s an odd way to end the series, but made even more odd by the context: it’s actually setting up the events of a mini-series released as part of the series. Star Wars: Short Treks Between Season 1 and Season 2, 2018 Discover. That short film “Calypso”written by ex Star Wars: Picard Showrunner Michael Chabon’s story is set about a thousand years after the end of “Star Wars.” Discoverand sees a lone, stranded soldier named Kraft (Aldis Hodge) encounter the long-abandoned Discover and bonding with Zola. this is absolutely crazy this final notes Star Wars: Discovery Continuing on, retroactively squaring the timeline difference—arguably not even a difference, given the vast amount of time between the end of the show and the events of “Calypso”—was inspired by a six-year-old short film promote, then, they’re notoriously difficult to access for viewers outside the U.S. (it’s still a bit awkward to find them on Paramount+ now, unless you’re actively looking for them). But it’s obviously something Discover Showrunner Michelle Paradise insisted on filming the series before it ended.
“We always knew we wanted to connect it somehow,” Paradise Recently told Variety On the decision to make the end of the show a reality. “We never wanted ‘Calypso’ to be a pending Chad.” And what if Discover has been renewed for a sixth season, and it’s clear that the path to where the ship left off during “Calypso” will be a major storyline this season. “This story is just getting started, but it will eventually tie up and connect the threads Discover Back with ‘Calypso’,” Paradise confirmed.
Instead, we get an already bizarre ending choice Discover, it leaves so many doors open and it is so eager to close this one. But at least for heaven, it’s a door that needs to be closed. Discover No longer exists. “I really don’t feel like we’re missing out on anything by not having an extra day [to shoot],” Heaven concluded. “I feel like everything ended the way it needed to.”
