Frye said the men participated in the Philadelphia Palestine Alliance’s Nakba Day march calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The president said the encampments raised “understandable concerns” about campus safety.
“There have been many well-documented examples of hate speech and intimidating behavior at other campus demonstrations,” Frye said.

Frye said the Drexel Police Public Safety Division is monitoring the encampment to “ensure it is peaceful and undisturbed” and that participants are “respecting each other.”
“We will be prepared to respond quickly to any disruptive or threatening behavior by anyone,” Frye said.
The president of Philadelphia University reiterated that they “will not tolerate” campus vandalism, harassment or intimidation of students, faculty and staff, or any “overtly racist, anti-Semitic or Islamophobic” remarks.
“We also will not allow anyone who is not a member of the Drexel community to trespass into our buildings and student residence halls,” Frye said.
Drexel University Public Safety said all buildings are on lockdown and only open to those with permits.
Just one day before the protests at Drexel University, 19 people were arrested at nearby Penn State University.
Police confirmed to Fox News Digital that 19 people have been arrested following protests at the university’s Fisher Bennett Hall.

Six students were among those arrested, and 12 others were cited on charges including failure to disperse, according to the university. Twelve were later released; FOX 29 reports.
