Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian quarterback Peyton Houston, who is drawing attention as the top prospect in the 2027 class, signed a landmark NIL deal.
It was announced Thursday that the rising sophomore has signed with Houston leaf trading card. Take Advantage of Louisiana Name, image and likeness Houston benefits from substantial financial compensation.
Houston’s first signature trading card is expected to be available in the coming weeks.
The deal was negotiated by the IFA (Athletes’ Association) and Lionheart Sports Agency. On Wednesday, May 15, Houston became the first-ever high school student-athlete to sign an exclusive NIL deal with the IFA. A week later, he got his first major NIL deal.
Houston is the latest athlete to form a partnership with Leaf Trading Cards. He joins 2025 five-star quarterback Julian Lewis and 2025 elite four-star quarterback Georgia McIntyre in the high school rankings. The Leafs also signed former Tennessee five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, former Florida State five-star quarterback DJ Lagway and former USC Heisman-winning quarterback Caleb Williams.

As a candidate city for 2027, Houston has not yet been ranked.
To date, Houston has received offers from Mississippi State University, Texas Tech University, Louisiana Tech University, Purdue University, Texas A&M University, Grambling State University, University of Houston, TCU, Mississippi State University, Marshall University , Arkansas, University of Pittsburgh, SMU and Colorado State, among others.
