Elon Musk’s “conversation” with former President Trump didn’t start well. The interview, hosted on X Spaces, was scheduled to begin at 8pm ET on Monday, but quickly fell apart and didn’t start until 42 minutes later.
Those who have successfully gone into space, including several edge Staff said the event started with low-fidelity electronic music played from Trump’s account and lasted about 30 minutes.
Eighteen minutes after the conversation was scheduled to begin, Musk claimed that X was the target of a “large-scale DDOS attack” that prevented Space from proceeding as planned.
However, the rest of the X appears to be working fine, a source at the company confirmed edge No denial of service attack actually occurred. Another X employee said there was a “99 percent” chance that Elon lied about the attack.
In a series of follow-up posts to X, Musk claimed the company tested the system with 8 million simultaneous listeners on Monday. X stated that 915,000 people listened to Space around the time the interview began.
When space finally began at around 8:40 PM ET, Musk repeated the DDOS statement. “As this massive attack shows, there’s a lot of backlash just for hearing what President Trump said,” he said.
The interview’s debacle was reminiscent of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ 2023 announcement of his presidential candidacy on X, which also began with technical difficulties. At the time, Musk blamed the problem on overloaded servers.
