Taylor Swift fans will be treated to a sold-out Eras tour in Dublin this weekend.
The singer kicks off her record-breaking three-night tour at Aviva Stadium in the Irish capital on Friday, with more than 150,000 Swifties in attendance.
Before Friday, it had been six years since Swift last performed in Dublin.
The 152-concert Eras tour has become the most profitable concert tour in history.
Its arrival in Dublin isn’t the only big event in the Irish capital over the weekend – Pride, the Latitude Festival, the GAA football All-Ireland quarter-finals and Shania Twain all attract their own crowds to the city.
What happened on the first night of the Eras tour in Dublin?
Around 50,000 fans packed into the Aviva Stadium on Friday night to watch the American musician perform.
Swift began her time on the Emerald Isle with high praise for Ireland and its culture.
“Dublin, we’re here!” she said. “You guys made me feel so good and it went right into my head. I felt very, very powerful.”
The concert was filled with elaborate production, multiple costume changes and a setlist that spanned more than three hours and included dozens of songs, taking fans on a chronological tour of her album.
“Nobody likes you. You know that?” she said, calling the Irish “incomparable storytellers” with “the best accents.”
In a now-viral clip, Swift’s dancers chanted “póg mo thóin” (which means kiss my ass) in Irish during a performance of “We’ll Never Be Together Again.”
Before the show, Swift received a bouquet of flowers and a note of welcome from Irish rock band U2.
It read: “Dear Taylor, welcome back to our hometown… leave some behind?!!!”

How has Dublin prepared for Taylor Swift?
The Taylor Swift concert was so huge that garda management declared the three days an “extraordinary event”.
Special measures are being implemented to ensure there are enough police officers to maintain law and order in the city.
The cost of policing five Garth Brooks concerts in Croke Park in 2022 is €380,000 (£320,000), and Taylor Swift’s three nights of security are expected to cost around the same.
In Belfast, around 300 fans were preparing to catch buses to Dublin on Friday morning.
Lucy Glover, 18, told BBC News she had “been looking forward to this show for a long time.”
“It was a landmark and now it’s here,” Ms. Glover said.
Lauren Shannon says ‘it’s like Christmas’.
Monique Uprichard, 23, who wore a dress inspired by the Lover album, said: “I had to plan this outfit and it was Taylor Swift Swift) works.
“Fast Economics”
The global superstar’s economic impact is now being dubbed “Swiftonomics”.
Revenues from the US leg of the Eras tour last year exceeded $1bn (£792m) for the first time. International tours are now estimated to increase that figure to $4bn (£3.1bn).
The much-anticipated UK leg could deliver an almost £1bn boost to the economy, with the tour’s only Irish city also expected to be a beneficiary of the boost.
The only other similar global star to have competed in Dublin was Garth Brooks.
An estimated 400,000 fans attended his five-night performance in Croke Park.
Dublin Chamber of Commerce estimates that visitors to these concerts boost the economy by €35 million. Can the same thing be done in Swift?
Dublin Chamber of Commerce says the real benefit comes from people traveling overseas.
Its director of public and international affairs, Aebhric McGibney, said tourism would be the biggest beneficiary of the trip to Iras.
“You can see people from all over the country come to Dublin and spend some time here, which is fantastic.
“But the real economic impact comes from people traveling from overseas, from as far away as the UK, Northern Ireland and the US. In general, the longer people travel, the more time they spend here.”
Mr McGibney added that the 2,000 to 3,000 people from the United States “could easily spend thousands of euros each” during their visit.
There are still hotel rooms available, some costing more than €500 (£420) a night, but there are also more affordable rooms available.
Businesses at Aviva and around Dublin are planning a big weekend that includes unlimited brunch, Taylor quizzes and more quirky activities such as mug making.
The Bridge, a popular bar near the Aviva Stadium, has developed a Taylor Swift-themed menu. Manager Colm Ryan said they were used to big events but nothing like Taylor’s.
“We always have rugby games, Six Nations games and so on,” he said.
“Obviously there are a lot of concerts left. Pink and Rammstein played last weekend. But Taylor, she’s on another level and the amount of people who came out to support her was huge.
“She is probably one of the greatest artists in the world right now.
“This weekend we have special cocktails named after a couple of her songs. So we have a lavender mist cocktail and a magic cocktail, and we have smoothies, you know, frozen daiquiris that I want to pair with that kind of wishy-washy weather Something that will fly out if allowed.
The Dublin Pottery Studio is hosting a two-night Taylor-themed mug-making class, both of which sold out within an hour.
Manager Ciara Fullam said the idea came about when most customers were painting their Taylor Swift pottery, regardless of the concert.
“We noticed that every weekend, people were drawing Taylor Swift themes,” she said.
How to get to Aviva Hotel
If you’re lucky enough to get tickets, there are some additional public transportation services available for Taylor Swift concerts.
Extra Dart train services run around Dublin city, with services running on all three evenings.
There are also 60 different bus routes from all over the country, approved by the National Transport Administration, specifically serving Aviva.
Intermodal transport too Operating special return train services From Northern Ireland.
The concert takes place at the same time as many other events in the Dublin area, such as Pride and Longitude, so public transport will be busy.
The Aviva Stadium is relatively close to Dublin city center and for those who can afford to do so, it may make more sense to complete this part of the journey on foot.
What time does the concert start and end?
Event promoter MCD said the gates to the Eras Tour opened at 17:00 local time, however, some fans with early admission packages may enter from 15:00.
The show starts at 18:00, opening with Paramore.
Swift then kicks off her big three-and-a-half-hour performance starting around 19:00.
The MCD also warns that briefcases, bags, suitcases or purses larger than a clutch are prohibited.
For those looking for the goods, 3Arena in Dublin’s North Wall Quay is available until Sunday.
