Even Rupert Murdoch’s conservative Wall Street Journal published a poll showing Donald Trump’s lead has evaporated.
The Wall Street Journal reports:
The presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is essentially a close call, according to a new Wall Street Journal poll that shows non-white voters favor Kamala Harris The support rate of the Democratic Party has increased, and the enthusiasm of the Democratic Party for the campaign has also greatly increased.
In a two-person showdown, the former president leads the current vice president 49% to 47%, but that’s within a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. Trump led President Joe Biden by six points earlier this month before dropping out of the race and endorsing Harris.
…
In a poll that included Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other independent and third-party candidates, Harris received 45 percent to Trump’s 44 percent. Kennedy received only 4% support, with 5% undecided. In the last poll, Biden trailed by six points in the multi-candidate race.
Trump must hope Harris’ momentum is halted, or his hopes of returning to the White House may be dashed. Harris has yet to choose her running mate, which could lead to another backlash depending on who she chooses. The vice president has yet to hold a convention, which would give her her largest audience of the campaign so far.
The former president is trying to withdraw from the debate with Harris, but that stance could change if she leads in the polls. Trump has no momentum during the 2024 campaign. His lead comes as Democrats abandoned Biden after the incumbent president’s debate performance. Kamala Harris is bringing those Democrats home, and her numbers have more room to grow, which the same can’t be said for Trump.
Forget what you thought you knew a week ago. This is a new election, and Kamala Harris has the energy and enthusiasm to defeat Trump.
