Indiana Fever head coach Christy Sides, who never had a winning record, died last year in the WNBA. Now, her goal isn’t just to take down Caitlin Clark and her team – that’s not enough. Christie Sides will single-handedly destroy the WNBA’s only chance at becoming a profitable sports league. And it only took seven games.
Hopefully the girls aren’t used to those charter flights yet!
Apparently Coach Sides never saw Caitlin Clark play when she was in college at Iowa and broke every scoring record imaginable. At the same time, Clark also became the player with the most assists among college players in his final year.
On Saturday night, Coach Sides finally asked Clark to take her place after the Hoosiers notched their first win of the year on Friday night. The greatest scorer in history only took 8 shots in the entire game. Christy was delighted. Christie knows best.
Caitlin Clark has dominated every arena she’s played in this year. Fans packed stages in New York, Seattle, Indiana, Connecticut, Los Angeles and Las Vegas to catch a glimpse of and watch Caitlin Clark shot.
But that’s not Christy Sides’ vision for Caitlin Clark. Christie looked to Caitlin Clark for a pass and went to the bench.
Coach Christie told reporters she hopes to transform Caitlin into a two-point shooter. Christy knows what’s best for Caitlin, the game, and the league.
Coach Christie believes Indiana’s offense should revolve around Kelsey Mitchell, a ball-freak who believes she is the ball-handler, and Aliyah Boston. The team’s magic never passes to Caitlin Clark, and Aliyah Boston shoots less than 50 percent on layups.
Coach Seitz wants Clark to know her place. She’ll make sure Caitlin Clark doesn’t shoot in the game. Maybe in training – but not in games
Of course, WNBA brass had no idea that Christie Sides had just destroyed their star player and alienated the fans who loved her.

Kaitlyn Clark’s former coach Linda Bruder was in the arena crowd on Saturday. It will be very interesting to hear Bruder’s thoughts on Coach Sides and her plans for Caitlin Clark.
