Kevin Feige and the team at Marvel Studios not only bring new Fantastic Four The title of this year’s Comic-Con. Not only did they bring in director Matt Shakman, but they also brought in Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach to star. They didn’t even just bring a magical car, it flew through Hall H at the end of the show, taking the cast back to London to film.
Even though principal photography hasn’t started yet, they’ve also got a very special trailer for the movie. But it sheds a lot of light on the futuristic New York City the movie is set in.
First, the lens is square and grainy, like a 1960s TV. The logo of a company called the Future Foundation suggests it has a special vision for the Fantastic Four. We see Mr. Fantastic (Pascal) hosting a show that looks like a classroom called The Amazing Science of Mr. Fantastic. He was explaining to a bunch of kids that the multiverse is possible (hint hint), but when he saw how bored they were, he said “Who wants to see the Big Bang?” and they all cheered. He lit a large engine in the room, which burst into flames.
Reed and Ben (Moss-Bachrach) are being interviewed. Both were wearing space suits. Reed says Ben is the best pilot in the world, but Ben jokes that maybe he’s the best-looking, but that’s about it. Sue (Kirby) gives everyone a tour of the house, and Reed reveals that they have dinner with the family once a week, on Sundays at eight o’clock. “No matter what, we’re here.” Both looked very present at the dinner. What follows is a shot of a flying car speeding across a very futuristic New York skyline.
As we hear the voiceover of the launch, we see the silhouette of the four of them walking toward a spaceship in slow motion. looks a bit like Apollo 13. Next, we go to a show called “Game Show” Let’s have a game. The host asked the woman which man she wanted to choose, and she said the third one. The camera pans and we see the stone man, although he’s just a silhouette. (He has a classic head shape.)
Back behind the scenes at the launch site, the team is conducting a series of tests, including communications checks. “The last voice you heard was my little brother Jonathan Storm,” Sue Storm said. “Ladies, he’s very, very single.” He (Quinn) looked at the camera awkwardly.
We see the four of them waving to the crowd as they walk toward the space shuttle, and at the end, the 4:3 TV ratio expands to full widescreen, making the spacecraft look almost like a giant spike. Lord of the Rings, flying into the sky. We got a new title, Fantastic Four: The First Step, and then quickly add an item. From inside a building, a huge body stood outside, looking down.
Fantastic Four: The First Step Opening July 25, 2025.
