Card Smith has made his college decision.
Smith, the nation’s No. 35 offensive tackle out of Mobile (Ala.) Williamson High School, has locked down a commitment to USC.
The Trojans beat Mississippi State to land Smith, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman. Smith committed to Auburn before taking an official visit to USC in June.
The Trojans have been in the spotlight since Smith retired in Hollywood.
“After I took my official visit this summer, just walking around the school and meeting the coaches and players, I knew this was home,” Smith began.
“USC was the right fit for me because they had everything I wanted and more,” he told me opponent. “The OL room is like a family.”
The talented four-star OL out of Alabama has been mulling over his decision all summer and is preparing to reach a deal before his senior season at Williamson High School.
Trojans coaches have been in close contact with Smith since his official visit in June.
“They always checked on me and made sure that my family and I were straight,” Smith noted. “They treat me like family.”
Lincoln Riley and Josh Hansen Both were actively involved in Smith’s recruitment.
They were a big part of Smith’s adjustment in Los Angeles.
“The culture at USC is amazing,” he details. “I feel like I fit in there because I want what they want – which is winning – and that’s my game because this is my home. I know that.”
