Trey Gowdy tried to get J.D. Vance to apologize for his attacks on childless Americans, but Trump’s running mate repeatedly claimed he was being quoted out of context.
The high school freshman began by asking Vance, “I’ve heard from a lot of women, most of them conservatives, who really wanted to vote for President Trump and you, but Senator, they were disappointed. Well, in addition to the nuns and Father aside, do you agree that there are people who love this country very much and are invested in its future, but they also happen to have no children?
Vance responded, brushing off Gowdy’s question and then getting to what he really wanted to talk about, which was his claim that he was being quoted out of context, “Of course I believe Trey. If you look at the full context of what I said, That’s very clear. The Democrats try to take Trey out of context and exaggerate, they always do that because they don’t have an agenda of their own, and if you look at what the American people care about most about Trey, it’s not me three. A wisecrack taken out of context years ago.
To make sure America knew Vance wouldn’t apologize, even if Trey Gowdy did everything but cut the microphone and pepper the interview with the words “I’m sorry,” Trump’s running mate later came back and said:
I do think that being a parent can actually have a profound impact on someone’s perspective, and we should respect and respect that, but there are a lot of people who don’t have children for a variety of reasons, and they’re certainly great to be able to fully participate in this country People who live, that’s not what I said, Trey.
If you look at what the left is doing, they take it completely out of context and, in fact, lie blatantly about what I said. I do think it’s true, Trey, and it gets to the core of what I was talking about in these comments three years ago, but it’s going to be something I continue to talk about, which is that the left is becoming more and more obviously anti-child and anti- family.

Trey Gowdy and Fox News are basically begging Vance to apologize and make this whole thing go away, but Vance is playing for an audience and if he apologizes he will look weak in Trump’s eyes, so let’s Again the great thing is to blame the left and claim you were quoted out of context.
Who cares how many votes the Republicans lose? Vance knows he must always appear strong to Trump.
This interview was a disaster, like everything else J.D. Vance touched on this campaign.
Trump made a huge mistake in choosing Vance, but since he never admits his mistakes, J.D. Vance is likely to stay.
