Donald Trump’s so-called “hush money” case began this week with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, but Fox News legal analyst Greg Jarrett called it nonsense.
Jarrett said that because Hillary Clinton did “pretty much the same thing” but wasn’t hauled into court for it, the former president is being held to a completely different standard.
Clinton was never tried over her campaign’s payment for the now-disgraced Steele dossier, which allegedly showed Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

“But if your last name is Trump”
On Monday, Trump appeared in court over an alleged $130,000 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels. The payment was allegedly part of a confidentiality agreement during the 2016 election.
But Hillary Clinton never appeared in court.
“Hillary Clinton did pretty much the same thing,” Jarrett said on “Fox & Friends.” “She also used lawyers to secretly pay for the false Steele dossier and billed it as legal fees. She was fined by the Federal Election Commission, but she was not indicted, and neither was Barack Obama, although he was found guilty of concealing Donors and retainers of illegal donations can be fined up to $375,000.
“But if your last name is Trump, the standard of justice is completely different and completely different,” Jarrett added.

Double standards, total hypocrisy
Jarrett also said the judge handling Trump’s case committed a double standard and oversaw a “convoluted and grueling prosecution.”
“[Bragg] It has to be tied to an alleged violation of election laws, but that’s not the case,” Jarrett said of Trump’s case. “The Federal Election Commission investigated and they said it was completely legal. It was not a campaign contribution.
“The Department of Justice concluded that there was no crime here,” he added. “But, you know, Alvin Bragg brought charges under federal law even though he was a local prosecutor and had no jurisdiction and authority to do so. But the judge let him get away with it.
Maybe it’s not too late for Donald Trump to change his last name to Clinton or Biden.
